Abstract :
Protection is the safety of the electric power system installed in the electric power distribution system, power transformers, electric power transmission systems and electricity generators. Protection is used to secure the electric power system from electrical interference, by separating parts of the system that are interrupted by parts of the system that are not interrupted, so that the undisturbed electrical system can continue to work (flowing the current to the load). One of these disturbances is inter-phase short circuit interference and phase-to-ground short circuit interference. The disturbance causes the system to be interrupted, so that proper protection coordination is needed to minimize the area of disturbance that occurs. What is meant by protection coordination here relates to the time and work settings of the protection tools needed to localize the disturbances that occur, such as the coordination of the Recloser with LBS. In the Penyanggrahan 9 at PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Borobudur uses 2 Reclosers and 2 LBS. Where in case of interference, OCR (over current relay) on the Recloser will detect the presence of overcurrent so that it will trip. Instantly the LBS will lose voltage and result in a LBS trip, so the area can be minimized. And if it experiences a work failure, it will be backed up by the OCR on the side of the substation and ordered (sending a signal) to the PMT to trip.
