Abstract :
In the process of the distribution of electricity, there is shrinkage ie shrinkage energy / energy losses that can be seen from the difference in the comparison of energy use on the sender side and the use of energy on the receiver side. Basis of calculation is the difference in the distribution system in this case the sender side with the received distribution substation is the consumer. How to know the size of the energy losses that occur in the distribution system is to use the manual calculation based on the data obtained. Having in mind the magnitude of the energy losses, it can be taken into account efforts to reduce shrinkage, by action in the form of load balancing. In a study conducted on KPLS substation owned by PT PLN (Persero) Rayon Bogor City shrinkage reduction percentage obtained by 10, 67% that of the energy losses in March prior to balancing the load by 34 977 kWh to 31 605 kWh in May.
