Abstract :
Current Transformer is an electrical device that converts the alternating current voltage from one level to another through a magnetic coupling and the principle of induction electromagnet. The selection of current transformer becomes one of the things that must be considered because it will affect the measurement results. Error selection of current transformer is one of the problems that cause the
shrinkage in the process of measurement that caused a lot of losses, losses to the company and losses on the consumer electric energy. One way to overcome the error of selection of current transformer is by choosing the right current transformer ratio. This final project discusses the selection of current transformer ratio to the shrinkage of energy in the measurement system at PT.PLN (Persero) Tanjung
Priok Area. The nominal current on the customer with power 10380 kVA is 300A, so the ratio of current transformer used with a ratio of 300 as well. The energy losses on customers with the largest 10380 kVA contract power are those using a
current ratio of 350/5 currents with 28137.45895 kWh / month energy shrinkage while the smallest energy losses is using a current ratio of 300/5 with 27165 energy losses, 86231 kWh / month.
