Abstract :
Damage to devices on the power distribution network often occurs and this damage one of them can be caused by lightning strikes that affect the devices on the power distribution network. The disturbance caused by lightning strikes is very dangerous for the existing equipment in the medium voltage network as well as for System continuity. In Indonesia alone lightning disturbance is very large intensity. So the protection against the lightning itself must be very precise and efficient. The choice of Ground Steel Wire on medium voltage 20 KV network is selected based on the rules that have been set.Ground Steel Wire itself is a tool that serves as a safety strike Lightning at 20 KV.Position and peletakannya above the pole make it more effective to secure the devices on the power distribution network compared with lightning arrester.Dengan appropriate installation at the point of protection then lightning strikes can be handled.Kehadiran Ground steel wire also Has changed the clearance distance between the construction and the insulator. The grounding conditions of the electrodes installed in every 4 wickets ensure the earthing works well with the result below 5 Ohm. Therefore if the installation of both top and bottom construction is done according to the standard then the disturbance data to The front may decrease.
