Abstract :
The Cilegon Steam Gas Power Plant (PLTGU) condenser is a heat exchanger that uses seawater as a cooling fluid used to condense the output of low pressure steam turbines. Seawater used as a cooling fluid is purified in advance to separate seawater from marine biota, but due to marine biota and small sized debris sometimes escapes from the purification process so that it interferes with cleanliness in the pipes, tubes, suction pipes and condenser water box, resulting in the process of heat transfer is not optimal and the performance of the condenser will be reduced. To overcome the problem of fouling on the condenser it is necessary to carry out an overhaul process (checking and cleaning process) on the Cilegon power plant condenser which is carried out on parts such as water boxes, suction pipes, and pipes (tubes). The results of the overhaul process showed an increase in the performance of the PLTGU condenser which was originally averaged in the extraction vapor 37 ° C to 35 ° C and on the out side 35.89 ° C the condenser after overhaul to 35 ° C, from the results of calculations on the data obtained that the factors that influence the performance of the condenser include the cleanliness factors of the suction pipe channel, pipes and tube water.
