Abstract :
SWFP (Sea Water Feed Pump) is a vertical type centrifugal pump that pumps sea water. Sea Water Feed Pump serves as a sea water supply for Desalination Plant needs, which is useful for processing sea water into fresh water using evaporation and condensation systems. The Desalination Plant water is used to cool the existing equipment in PLTGU Cilegon, as lube water Sea Water Feed Pump A and other lube water pumps. The pump lubrication system serves to reduce the coefficient of friction between the two surfaces that meet, thus reducing the risk of wear and can extend the life of the equipment itself. The portion of Sea Water Feed Pump A in lubrication is mechanical seal, which consists of rotary and stationary parts. Desalination Water Plant used as Sea Water Feed Pump A lube water is called water service, the need of Sea Water Feed Pump A will serve big enough water, about 2 tons / hour. If the lube water of Sea Water Feed Pump A is replaced with water from a discharge of about 340 tons / hour, by modifying the discharge form without eliminating its original function by plumbing the discharge connected to the Sea Water Feed Pump then the need for lube water Sea Water Feed Pump A will be fulfilled. With this research aimed to save water service, the impact can minimize production cost in Desalination Plant. The scope of this research is to study or examine the discharge water and lube water of Sea Water Feed Pump A in PLTGU Cilegon. The methodology used in this research is Literature Study Method, Interview Method, Field Study Method
