Abstract :
Library system that runs in the library ofsmp 5 pasuruan was still conventional. Start from searching book till lending book. Visitors prefer to go to the bookshelf to find the desired book. Librarian?s knowledge regarding information of book collection is also limited. After finding the book they want, visitors can borrow a book by coming to librarian. Information retrieval based on a query by the user, with expectation can find a collection of documents based on user needs with a system called Information Retrieval System. This study discusses the implementation of information retrieval system to search for text documents such as a book title Indonesian using TF-IDF weighting and vector space model.This paper aims to allow visitors to search the book quickly so that they will quickly get the information needed. In this application visitors can also borrow books online.
