Abstract :
kWh meter is an electrical measuring instrument used to measure and calculate the value of active energy in energy transactions agreed between PT. PLN (Persero) with customers in kWh units (killo Watt hour). Accuracy kWh meter has an important role in the income of PT. PLN (Persero), of PLN must monitor the kWh meter, especially kWh meter mechanical type that has been installed long for reliability kWh meter is maintained. One of the efforts made is by replacing the 3 phase mechanical kWh meter into an electronic meter based on Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system. Because AMR electronics meter already has a more accurate class of accuracy that is class 1 accuracy and the method of reading energy consumption remotely so that more efficient in conducting recording energy to the customer. The replacement of the 3-phase mechanical kWh meter is carried out using the Time Based Maintenance (TBM) method, which is the age-based maintenance of kWh meters which is approximately 10 years of service life. After the replacement, this 3-phase mechanical kWh meter was tested for class accuracy at the Tera Laboratory of PT. PLN (Persero) Tanjung Priok Area and get an error that is not good when compared to the results of calculating the error meter on the electronic meter that has been installed, as evidenced by the proof of measurement between the two kWh meters. There was an increase in the use of kWh at 3 customers after replacement, which was 190 kWh, 93.7 kWh and 204.3 kWh
