Abstract :
Battery is a device that can generate electrical energy by chemical process. The meaning of chemical processes is in the battery can take the process of chemical conversion into electric power (emptying process) and vice versa electrical power into chemical (refilling) by regenerating the electrodes used is by passing the electric current in the direction of opposite polarity inside Battery cells can be either a few cell lines or just one cell. Each cell consists of a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte. The type of electrode and electrolyte depends on the manufacturer that produces it. Research conducted by the author in this case included into the type of non-hypothesis comparative research that is comparing the status of phenomena with the standard. Batteries in the substation Lembursitu, can be said good because the bank 1 efficiency 99.6% and bank 2 efficiency 99.3% while according to standard IEC623 good category 80% efficiency. Batteries used for power supply PMT, PMS, emergency lights, instrument equipment, and control systems. The study was conducted in March 2017 at the Substation Lembursitu, PT. PLN (Persero) Sukabumi.
