Abstract :
Elimination of the use of the refrigerant HCFC (Hydro Chloro Fluoro Carbon) R-22 in 2015 in Indonesia containing ODP (Ozone depletion potentials) of the entire refrigeration coolers. So therefore, to reduce it to do the replacement refrigerant. One alternative replacement rerigeran HCFC R-22 is a hydrocarbon refrigerants R-600a and R-290 are more frequently used by the public in refrigeration cooling machine at this point. In this study, carried out a comparison test between hydrocarbon refrigerants R-600a and R-290 as a replacement for HCFC refrigerant R-22, but the replacement refrigerant in cooling the same machine can provide different performance results. One way to improve the performance of the engine coolant is subcooling. This research aims to increase the value of the cooling engine performance with the research method used is the method of real experiments. In this study varied level of subcooling to the valve entry and exit subcooling ie 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 full on the condition of no-load and light load of 15W, 25W, 40W, 60W, 85W and 100W.
