Abstract :
One of the uses of concrete in civil engineering is rigid pavement. Fly ash and shell powder as a silica material are the most commonly used pozzolanic material as cement material. The use of fly ash (fly ash) can reduce the average pore size in concrete so as to obtain a smaller permeability. This study used an experimental method with cylindrical specimens with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm with variations of fly ash and shell powder as much as 0% (normal concrete), 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, each variation amounted to 3 test objects. Compressive strength testing is performed on concrete ages 7, 14, 28 days, while porosity and permeability testing at 28 days. At the age of 28 days, concrete variation 3 with a mixture of FA 15% + SCK 15% has the highest compressive strength compared to other variations of 25,157 MPa, but it is still below the normal concrete compressive strength of 25,536 MPa. Testing porosity in concrete variation 1 (FA 5% + SCK 5%) produces the most optimum porosity value of 4.4%. Whereas in permeability testing the concrete gets optimum value in concrete variation 3 (FA 15% + SCK 15%) that is equal to 1.233cm / second. From this test shows the compressive strength relationship to prorosity is that the greater the compressive strength the smaller the porosity value. Whereas the greater the porosity value, the greater the permeability value produced.
