Abstract :
Improved services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport need to be supported by adequate infrastructure. The construction of Runway 3 is an effort to increase airport capacity. At the planning stage, the initial soil investigation shows the presence of soft soil at the project site. So it was decided to make subgrade improvements using Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD). Consolidation analysis is carried out by looking for the length of time and the magnitude of decline in the consolidation of subgrade obtained from calculations. Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) varied in thickness, pattern and distance to obtain a comparison of the time value (t) and the magnitude of decrease (Sc). Variations were made to obtain the most suitable combination of Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) for soil repair at the study site. The results showed that the time taken for the original land to reach 90% consolidation was 1912366931 day. Whereas after soil improvement is done using the preloading method combined with Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) the soil only takes 105 days to achieve a consolidation reduction of 90%.
