Abstract :
Improved services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport need to be supported by adequate infrastructure. The construction of Runway 3 is an effort to increase airport capacity. At the planning stage, initial land investigations indicate potential liquefaction at the project site. It was decided to improve the subgrade using stone columns. Analysis of the potential liquefaction is done by searching for the Safety Factor (FS) of subgrade obtained from a comparison of the value of Cyclic Stress Ratio (CSR) and Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR). Soils has a liquefaction potential if FS <1. This final project uses ProShake 2.0 - Educational Version software to calculate CSR values and methods of Youd et al. (2001) to calculate CRR values. Stone column planning is done by the method of Priebe (1995) to calculate improvement factor (n) which increases the value of FS. The results showed the safety factor before the stone column installation was 0.2051 for the 500-year earthquake return period increasing to 1.1422 after the stone column installation. While for the 2500-year earthquake period the safety factor increased from 0.1988 before the installation of the stone column to 1.1325 after the installation of the stone column.
