Abstract :
During the Construction phase, construction will take a lot of changes. These Changes in the construction project are commonly referred to as change orders. The effect of this change order is caused the project to be late and the
change in project cost is either reduction or cost increase. The purpose of this research is to know the five contributing factors of the most common change order, so that the consequences are expected to be minimized. This research
was conducted in the renovation project of Metro Department Store Plaza Senayan, involving contractor workers of this project. From the results of the
questionnaire that involved 40 respondents, we found five ranking factors that causing the most common change order, i.e. added work, material not available in the market, acceleration of work, change of design, and change the job
execution time method. The effect of the Change Order on this project is the addition of a project cost of 9.71% and no settlement time changes on the project, this project finishes with the initial plan target.
