Abstract :
A construction project consists of various kinds of work activities that are interrelated with one another. In the implementation of construction projects, there is often a delay in one type of work activity which causes a delay in the overall project duration. A project manager should have careful planning in scheduling, as well as anticipatory steps if the worst case scenario occurs in the implementation of the project.One effort to anticipate delays in project duration is to accelerate the duration of follower work activities. To overcome the problem of accelerating the duration of work activities as a step to anticipate delays in the Runway 3 Section 1 project of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is to use What If Analysis applied to the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule or critical path method, which is a method in project scheduling. The acceleration of the duration is carried out on the activities of followers by increasing the number of workers and the number of hours worked on the work activities to be accelerated. The results obtained in acceleration are almost all activities that are assumed to be late in getting a solution by adding workers or working hours. A price comparison is made between the cost of adding the number of workers to the cost of adding the number of hours worked to be used as an option to accelerate the duration where the cost of adding workers is always smaller than the cost of adding hours worked.
