Abstract :
Electric railway (KRL) or commuter line is one of public transport that interest for being cheap, comfortable, clean, and quick. When in a new place of visit, people are still baffled to find the nearest station. KRL's current application has no support for this feature. Also, on the KRL application there is no notification feature when the KRL user will get the station in view of not all speakers in the KRL car functioning properly. Design of this KRL applicate information is additing to giving out KRL's timetable information, also helps the public to find the nearest station and reminds the public that this KRL will get to the destination station. The technology used in designing this app is an LBS technology that can provide service to smartphone users according to the user's location. This LBS technology is a combination of GPS and Google maps API. The LBS technology in the application requires a haversine formula to calculate the nearest station.. The result of this design is an android based KRL information app that not only displays KRL's timetable information, but can display nearby stations and notifications to the community when it arrives at its destination.
