Abstract :
The use of plastics is constantly increasing over time, causing the amount of plastic wastes, too, continue to increase. The non-biodegradable character of plastic causes plastics take hundreds of years to decompose completely. This causes the need for more efficient plastic wastes managements. One way is to utilize plastic wastes into artificial aggregate in concrete mix with ingredients added Silica fume and superplasticizer. Use of HDPE waste with silica fume, superplasticizer is divided into several variation, namely : variation normal (0%) , variation 5% HDPE, 5% Silica Fume, 2% Superplasticizer, variation 7,5% HDPE, 5% Silica Fume, 2% Superplasticizer, variation 10% HDPE, 5% Silica Fume, 2% Superplasticizer.The of researchis done in two ways, that is : material test, and making test object,tested compressive stregth, split tensile strength and absorpsi of age day 7, day 14, day 28. The lowest 28 day compressive stregth test results contained at 10% hdpe + 5% silica fume + 2% superplasticizer 17,174 MPa with a 1,320 MPa tensile stregth and the absorption was equal to 0,807.The highest test results of 28 day compressive stregth are found in variation at 5% hdpe + 5% silica fume + 2% superplasticizer 28, 781 MPa split tensile stregth and the absorption is equal to 2,555%.
