Abstract :
Clay soil has a high potential for shrinkage. Such shrinking flower properties if not calculated can cause damage to the building above it. Therefore, a stabilization effort is needed to reduce the potential for shrinkage and increase its carrying capacity so that it can be used as subgrade for construction activities. In this study clay soil will be stabilized by using a mixture of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 1% glass powder percentage by testing the physical and mechanical properties of the soil parameters. Based on the results of physical properties testing on moisture content can reduce the water content from 32.4128% initial soil to 17.7801% in the mixture percentage of 15% glass powder and 1% plastic chopped, while the soil density test increased from the value Initial 2.0502 soil was 2.3240 in the percentage of 10% mixture of glass powder and 1% of plastic chopped. Based on mechanical testing, the optimum mixture of soil shear strength at 10% glass powder and 1% plastic chopped with the optimum value is cohesion (c) 0.6026 kg / cm2 and 47? 48 '35.28 "sliding angle.
