Abstract :
Static Var Compensator (SVC) is a compensation device that able to absorb reactive power from the system by adjusting the ignition angle?s thyristor. In electric power systems, active power and reactive power are important parameters. Excessive reactive power can result in a decrease in the power factor resulting in increased power losses. In the simulation before SVC was installed the total power loss was 4862.2 kW and the total power loss after SVC installation was 4758.8 kW. The simulation results were obtained after two SVCs with a capacity of 40 MVAR and 56,38 MVAR.
