Abstract :
The increasing number of high rise buildings in urban areas then the use of elevators is no longer a stranger. Even the need for mobilization of people to move from one floor to another makes some buildings need more elevators to transport people. The higher a building will automatically need a lift with a higher reliability too, becouse after all safety and securityfactors become the main. But in reality in severals cases in indonesia there were several accidents that occured to couse injuries and even lives.power outages can be a dangerous problem for the use of elevators. Becouse after all the main source of driving power elevator is electric power. For that the authors here intend to plan regarding elevator security in anticipation of power outages. With this research it is expected to find out the safeguards applied to the elevator when the power fails using an air compressor. With a cost of Rp.34.135.090 which will be issued for the planning of this elevator door security system it will minimize the costs thet will be incurred if the potential work accident ( people trapped in the elevator ) when a black out occurs.
