Abstract :
The Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) is the latest generation of commercial aircraft that was previously the 737 Classic. Especially for the country of Indonesia which consists of various islands, the Boeing 737 is widely used because in addition to the low price, the 737 aircraft can accommodate many passengers, and the distance traveled is also very far. In the current modern era the Boeing 737 NG continues to be developed as well as the power plant. The main generator of the Boeing 737 NG is an Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) with an alternating current generator (AC) integrated with a Constant Speed Drive (CSD), while the backup generator is an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and a battery. At the peak load occurs when the aircraft is in the cruise flight phase with a power of 98.558 kW and in the flight phase of take-off, cruise and landing often interrupt the IDG. When IDG 1 is damaged, IDG 1 is 48.737 kW and IDG 2 is 41.971 kW will be accommodated with IDG 2 and APU. The loss of IDG 1 will not affect flights and without load reduction.
