Abstract :
Failure in transformer can have a huge impact to the continuity of electricity distribution. As the age of operation, the ability to withstand stress (stress withstand Capability) from the insulation of the transformer winding will decrease gradually. In order to asses health condition of the transformer insulation, a regular monitoring shall be performed. The monitoring could detect any deterioration in early phase, thus an appropriate maintenance can be determined on the transformer. Insulation Resitance - Polarization Index and Tan delta are some of the parameters that is used in evaluating the health conditions of insulation winding transformers. This thesis will discuss the health evaluation study of the Main Transformer of Gas Turbine Power Plant 1.1 in PLTGU Muara Karang (MT GT 1.1 MKR) using the Insulation Resitance - Polarization Index and Tan delta parameters, the value of the test results is compared with the recommended criteria value of IEEE std C57 152-2013. Construction of transformer consisting various conductor which materials including one conductor and other conductors is insulated by various dielectric materials as insulation how makes the transformer can be modeled as a circuit of capacitors. Deterioration of the isolation transformer can be determined by measuring the value of the polarization insulation resistance index and the power factor. So the value of power factor and dissipation factor can be compared. In this transformer, it can be seen that the difference in the value of power factor and dissipation factor which is not much different, it is also evident from the southwest corner of 98 degrees, which has the interpretation criteria values below 0.5% or good condition. So this transformer can be said to still be feasible to operate.
