Abstract :
Steam Power Plant Lontar Banten has three generating units of 315 MW capacity each, so the total power capacity 945 MW of electricity generated. The power plant uses coal as fuel. Performance of Air PreHeater which is a combustion air heater has an influence on the combustion process in the boiler, where the Air PreHeater heats the air by utilizing the heat contained in the flue gases of combustion. Problems often occur at the Air PreHeater during operation is air leakage and fouling of the elements, so the efficiency of Air PreHeater decreased because maximum heat transfer process in the Air PreHeater is failed to achieve. Overhaul is a maintenance activity for plant component have important role in maintaining the efficiency of all components and include the Air PreHeater. In this Air PreHeater research calculation efficiency, used method of balance energy and Effectiveness of Heat Exchanger at the time before and after overhaul. From the calculation results Air preheater efficiency get increased by 0.563% and 0.275% increased effectiveness after implementation Overhaul.
