Abstract :
Areas outside Java are still facing electrification issues and optimization of basic Electricity Supply Cost (BPP). Over all the times 3T area still uses diesel power plant (PLTD) as the supplier of electricity to the user. The cause of costly production cost is the high cost of refined fuel oil (BBM) and the expensive cost of spare parts. One of the approaches that can be done is to utilize local energy sources. This research is conducted by taking samples in Selayar Islands, South Sulawesi. In this design, Homer software is used to determine the configuration of the design optimization of renewable energy systems from the economics side. The simulation results of a five model system configuration namely: DG system configuration (100%) Capacity 11 kW with NPC value of US$ 688,751,275.62, PV system configuration (100%) + Pumped Hydro Storage Capacity 48,151 MWp + 23,764 MWh with NPC value of US$ 207,760,001.57, PV system configuration (100%) + Battery Capacity 65,193 MWp + 233,735 MWh with a value of NPC US$ 317,598,965.41, PV system configuration (97.8%) + DG system configuration (2.18%) + Pumped Hydro Storage Capacity 44,614 MWp + 11 MW + 12,030 MWh with a value of NPC US$ 170,075,373.51 and the configuration of PV system (97.6%) + DG (2.40%) + Battery with 43,555 MWp + 11 MW + 118,742 MWh with a value of NPC US$ 212,981,474.05. The simulation results also showed that the system configuration using the Pumped Hydro Storage component will be able to suppress the cost of plant production and able to restore the initial investment value quickly.
