Abstract :
Harmonic distortion was a phenomenon of wave defects that can cause losses to an electricity company. Harmonic distortion generated by non-linear loads from an industrial customer which can cause a decrease in the ability of the existing power transformer. This happens because an increase in harmonic distortion causes transformer losses to increase, so that the maximum capacity of the transformer decreases and makes the a reduction of capable power transformer increased. So, this thesis describes the steps of calculating the reduction in power capable of power transformer 1 at Spinmill substation based on measurements for 7 days at customers of PT. Prime Offset Victory. The highest current Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) occurred on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 9.9858% and the lowest occurred on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 7.7458% with a range of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) voltage between 5.2175% up to 7.4925%. With a high Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of current on Sunday, a reduction of capable power transformer was also high at 7.029643925% with the lowest maximum transformer capacity of 92.9703561%. while the lowest reduction of capable power transformer occurred on Tuesday at 4.179995273 % with the highest maximum transformartor capacity of 95.8200047%.
