Abstract :
Distribution Transformer is one of the most important components in the distribution electricity from distribution substations to customers. Service to customers will be disrupted, so that in the event of a termination of electricity allotment or outage resulting from damage to Distribution Transformer. Distribution transformers that have a load that exceeds 80% of the capacity of the transformer will have an effect on the life time of the distribution transformer and also affect the quality and level of service to consumers and have potential to cause great disturbances. Therefore, it is necessary to take an action so that the percentage of distribution transformer load does not exceed the capacity of the transformer by insertion substation method. The research method in this thesis uses quatitative methods. In PT.PLN (Persero) UP3 Cikupa there is a transformer that has overload at CA 9S Distribution substation at 84,85% and after installation new substation, loading at CA 9S substation from 84,84% to 49,65%. It can be proven that the installation of a insertion Station is a good method for resolve the overload disturbance at CA 9S substation, so that it can extend the life time transformer and improve the quality of service to customers and reduce the potential for interference due to the transformer load below 80%.
