Abstract :
In an electric power system, the generator is the main equipment used to produce electrical energy. Sometimes during operation, there is a disturbance which if not resolved immediately, it will disrupt the work of the system or equipment. Therefore, it was necesarry to install a protection device to secure the uquipment from interference. The disturbance referred to in this study was a short circuit faults caused by an overcurrent in the generator. The safety relay that works when overcurrent was the Over Current Relay (OCR). The purpose of this study was to compare the relay settings calculated with the test data carried out at the Hydroelectricity of Wonogiri. The results of the calculation showed that the Nominal Current (In) is 678.04 A when compared with the data 678 A, for the Setting Current (Is) the calculation results were 3.56 A, while for the data 3.5 A, then for TMS the calculation results were 4.75 second, while the test 5 seconds. For a relay operation time (top) calculation results were 10.99 seconds, while the testing of 11 seconds, which means that the relay testing pad work more slowly that the result.
