Abstract :
The power transformer used in substations has a function to channel electrical power and reduce the transmission voltage from high voltage to low voltage. According to the IEEE Std C57.91-2011 standard the lifetime of the ideal power transformer is 20,55 years. One of the causes of loss in the life of the transformer is the temperature of the hot-spot which is affected by the load and the ambient temperature more bigger the load, the higher the temperature and heat arising at the windings, this can damage the transformer insulation. The hot-spot temperature on this power transformer is still in the normal brick set at 98oC. The purpose of this study is to determine the percentage of life loss and estimate the remaining life of a power transformer 1 with a capacity of 30 MVA installed at Metro Substation. The data used are data on the transformer loading and temperature in May 2020 which is the peak load day and night. Based on research and calculations, the obtained amount of relative thermal aging rate in a year the percentage of the loss life is 35% with the value of the loss life is 10,88, with that obtained the estimated remaining life of the transformer which is around 3,0675 years.
