Abstract :
The study of shading effects on solar panels that have polycrystalline types on the off-grid PLTS system. The study was conducted at the ITPLN campus, Jakarta. The shading effect that occurred in the study occurred naturally due to the movement of the sun so that the jets were exposed to trees and buildings before reaching the surface of the solar panels resulting in the effect of shading. The panel tilt position is also used which also affects the output power of the solar panel, which is 35 °. Parameters and variables related to solar panel research such as Irradiation, Voltage, Current, Temperature, Ambient Temperature and Humidity. Retrieval of research data was carried out starting at 08.00 WIB in the morning until 16.00 WIB in the afternoon for one day and every 10 minutes data collection was performed. From the results of manual calculations, it is obtained a power of 57.12 Wattpeak and with this amount of power it means that the solar panel is working optimally. Then when an experimental calculation is done to get real data the output power decreases the power obtained. The greatest power obtained from experimental calculations is only 23.2629 Watts and for the smallest is only 11.2818 Watts. So for the smallest power, after calculating the percentage of the shading effect, it turns out that the value is 77,44% which causes a decrease in power of 11.9811 Watts. The greater the value of the shading effect, the smaller the power generated by a solar panel.
