Abstract :
One of PLN?s plans is construction of a Geothermal Power Plant (GPP) which will be built at the foot of mount Ungaran with capacity 60MW and will be operated at 2025. The renewed energy souece can be used as the main energy source that contains environmental pollution substances. In the planning of the GPP Ungaran, a protection system must be protect the stator from short circuit. The most common failure in the stator is short circuit. The protecting stator generator mus start from calculating shirt circuit current, setting the relay, and calculating the working time of the relay. The fault current that be calculated is fault current in 3 phase and fault current un 1 phase. Estimating time working on relay, that makes relay can work according to their own needs and not overlap. The three relays that are set in this thesis have different characteristics. Differential relays and overcurrent relays use current as sensing, then the stator ground relay uses voltage as sensing. The coordination of the three relays can be seen from the delay. Differential relays that work instantaneous and then overcurrent relays that work as backups of differential relays with a delay of 0.3 seconds. When a ground fault occurs, the differential relay remains the main relay and then the overcurrent relay is used as a backup and is added to the stator ground relay with a delay of 0.5 seconds.
