Abstract :
Imbalance is one of the problems that occur in distribution substations. Imbalance occurs because the electrical energy usage of different load and different period of time. Imbalance causes neutral currents to flow in the neutral conductor of the transformer. That neutral currents mentioned will result in increased losses in the distribution transformer. In this study, at BTC32 distribution substation a large imbalance value is obtained, which in the daytime load data the imbalance value reaches 25% and in the night load data the imbalance value reaches 26.33%. This study also includes reconnection method in order to minimize the value of the load imbalance. After reconnection method is conducted, it can be observed that the value of neutral current flowing decreases from 180.515 amperes to 25.45 amperes, and the amount of losses incurred also decreases from 6908.16 Watts to 167.312 Watts.
