Abstract :
The growing power needs of electricity must be balanced with the level of reliability of power availability from its source of distribution in this case is a power plant. One of the methods used as a parameter determinant of power plant reliability is the index Of loss of load Probability (LOLP) and loss of load Expectation (LOLE), in this case UJP PLTU Banten 3 Lontar that capacity 3x315 MW will be analyzed reliability index. By conducting the reliability index calculations, the overall calculation is done with the Matrix Laboratory Software
(MATLAB) to conduct simulated testing and evaluation of LOLP and LOLE generating results. Based on the results of the calculations of UJP PLTU Banten 3 Lontar in 2018 obtained LOLP result of 0.0779% or LOLE 28.448 day/year, the value indicates that PLTU Lontar categorized as an unreliable generator, by
adding capacity of generator to 5 units with the same capacity value of LOLP 0.0114% value and LOLE of 0.041 days/year. By doing the addition of generator units, the value of LOLP and LOLE PLTU Lontar become reliable according to the standard that PLN set is LOLP < 0,274 or equivalent to probility extinguished 1 day in a year.
