Abstract :
Solar energy is an energy that can be obtained for free without having to spend costs to acquire it such as fossil energy. The huge potential of solar energy in Indonesia, the use of solar plant is one of the good options in the effort to reduce the work of power plants using fossil energy. This study discusses the design of a solar system in Sewatama company with using free land around the genset room and rooftop space of the genset room. The Study also discusses economic analysis such as investments, profit ratios and the payback periods. The method used is quantitative descriptive by analyzing statistical data before and after installed solar panels. On the land can be installed 40 Solar panels with the total capacity is 12 kWp. By using PVsyst software obtained the optimal value at a tilt of 70 facing north. Solar panel can produce approximately 17.046 kWh/year, so fuel consumption can be reduced by 4.688 liters/year with a performance ratio of 80%. The investment fee on this design is Rp. 183,757,140, planned with 20 years project life with NPV value of Rp. 242,207,745 in year 20 with profit ratio 2,4 and payback period is about 5 years
