Abstract :
Distributing electricity to consumers is part of the electric power distribution system. In electricity distribution, reliability is important to prevent disturbances. So, a good protection system is necessary to meet the requirements of reliability, selectivity, sensitivity, and speed. These requirements depend on the protection settings of the components used, for example, overcurrent relay (OCR) and a ground fault relay (GFR). This thesis discusses the setting of overcurrent relays (OCR) and ground fault relays (GFR) on the incoming and outgoing sides of the Pelangi feeders at the Teluk Betung substation. In determining the setting, the short circuit fault current at the feeder has to be calculated. The highest short circuit fault current 3 phases, is10544,212 A. After calculating the settings on the OCR relay, the incoming value of TMS (time multiplier setting) is obtained at 0.13, while on the GFR relay, the incoming value of TMS is 0.29. The results of the calculation on the side of the OCR outgoing relay, TMS value obtained is 0.17. The outgoing side GFR relay setting gets 0.19 TMS.
