Abstract :
Nagan Raya steam power plant is the biggest power plant in Aceh. However, it sometimes has trouble in the operating system that leads to a problem in Aceh sub system. To overcome this problem, a 75 MVAR capacitor bank is attached in Banda Aceh substation. The installation of the capacitor bank succeeds to overcome drop voltage problem at several substations in Aceh. On the other hand, the Blang Pidie substation still has low voltage of 137,5 kV due to the length of the transmission line that is far from the Arun PLTMG so that the power supply from the Arun PLTMG to Blang Pidie is less optimal. Therefore, the author tries to simulate a 20 MVAR capacitor bank installation by using ETAP 12.6.0 software to obtain the higgest voltage drop in Blang Pidie substation. The result shows the voltage improvement of the substation is 9,6 kV
