Abstract :
Coal shipments by sea by barges often get obstacles such as bad weather, high ocean waves, etc. Coal shipping by land creates high transportation costs and air pollution on the road that is passed by coal shippers. Therefore, an alternative comes where efficient electricity production is located near a coal mine or can be called a mine mouth steam power plant where the electricity is generated, then it sent to other regions or islands. Power transmission using HVDC transmission cable. The results of the calculation of electricity generation using component C calculations show that the mine mouth steam power plant electricity production cost 463.05 Rupiah/kWh and the steam power plant in Java cost 558.9 Rupiah/kWh. Thus the electricity generated by mine mouth steam power plant sent via HVDC transmission line is more economical than electricity generated by steam power plant in Java.
