Abstract :
Energy (power) cannot be separated from life, therefore the growing development of human civilization, science and electricity technology is one of the basic needs in society. Due to the increase in daily needs, an adequate, reliable and safe supply of electrical energy is needed in fulfillment. Maluku itself has the potential for solar energy reaching 2,020 megawatts (MW) and is one of the areas that have large solar potential. Solar power, which is included in green energy, can be a solution for electricity needs in Indonesia. Therefore, the authors plan a Solar Power Plant in the building of SMA Negeri 4 Maluku Tengah which can reduce the use of fossils as the main fuel and educate the local community about PLTS. The PLTS components for this development are Canadian solar type CS3K-300 with a capacity of 300 Wp and an inverter SMA Sunny Tripower 10000TL with a power of 13500 W. With a power to be installed of 10,800 kWh in the SMA N 4 Maluku Tengah building, 36 solar panels are needed, with two strings each of which contains 18 panels with 1 inverter. The power produced per year is 15,393.61 kWh. For energy yield that can reach 1,861 kWh / m2 per year with a PR of 83%.
