Abstract :
An enormous supply of energy in electricity systems is needed to deliver electricity to loads or consumers. In maintaining reliability and quality of high voltage airway, protection systems are needed. To limit the area of isolation in time of interference, the protection system of the electric power system is made selectively based on the area or zone of protection. Ideally, the protection zones should overlap so that no part of the network is unsecured. Disturbances that occur both from inside and outside the system such as short circuit interference, interference due to bad weather, excessive load interference which can cause damage to electrical equipment and inhibit the process of delivering electricity to the consumers. The basic principle of measuring of distance protection is to compare the results of the measurement of the impedance with the impedance of the channel. Knowing the value of the impedance channel we can determine whether the magnitude of the impedance point is greater or smaller of the impedance value previously established. In this research, its used the quantitative method in which data based relays are comparable to their calculations. So that the research found that the impedance value in zone 1 is 3,232 ?, in zone 2 it is 4,848 ?, and in zone 3 it is 7,638 ?. With comparative accuracy the impedance result set is 1%.
