Abstract :
To reduce the amount of need for asphalt by minimizing the use of asphalt base material, and improving the quality of mixed asphalt, both increasing stability, durability and resistance to water need for added ingredients in the mixture which are capable of overcoming the weaknesses of asphalt, for example polymer or plastic materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of HDPE plastic waste (High-density Polyethylene) with pumice powder filler. The percentage of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) plastic waste used is 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% and the percentage of pumice powder for all samples is 2% . Test results on optimum asphalt content (KAO) were found in the percentage of HDPE (High-Density Poliethylene) plastic waste of 2% with pumice powder of 2% with a stability value of 931.70 kg, flow value of 3.84 mm, VMA value (voids of material aggregate) of 79.7%, VFA value (volume of voids filled with asphalt) of 59.82%, VIM (void in mixture) value of 3.03%, and MQ (Marshall Quotient) value of 242 , 63%. The results obtained from this test indicate that the addition of HDPE plastic waste (High-density Polyethylene) and pumice powder can improve the quality of the asphalt mixture.
