Abstract :
Indonesia is a very promising area in the application of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) because it is crossed by the equator. The researchers conducted a study to increase the efficiency of the solar module itself. This study aims to compare the output of the two solar cell which are more efficient on the effect of temperature and irradiation variations in the Cirata region with almost the same measurement hours. This study uses each of the solar cell with Thin-film and Polycrystalline types with measuring devices in the form of IV-Tester assisted by Reference Cell to measure irradiation, and Flir to measure panel temperature and. IV-Tester functions to measure and display the results of Pmax, Voc, Vmpp, Isc, Impp and its irradiation in 2, which is during Operation Condition (OPC) and Standard Test Condition (STC). Comparison in terms of Thin-Film performance is superior where the average performance value for 3 days of measurement is - 3.75% while for Polycrystalline is 12.43% where the acceptable tolerance for performance is between -5% to 3%. While the greatest reduction in efficiency occurs in Polycrystalline compared to Thin Film, because the effect of the greatest power losses occur in Polycrystalline compared to Thin-film in the temperature coefficient. And in the Polycrystalline type solar cell itself absorbs heat more quickly so that the temperature in the solar module will rise faster than the Thin-Film type so that losses caused by the temperature coefficient will be increased.
