Abstract :
Nowadays, small-scale power stations use fossil fuel diesel generators. The high exploitation of fossil energy has a bad impact on the environment. One effort to overcome this is by replacing or reducing the use of fossil fuels with palm oil. However, palm oil cannot be used directly as a fuel generator due to its high viscosity so that it can clog the fuel lines. High viscosity can be solved by adding a heating system and mixing palm oil with diesel oil. The research aims to design and create a fuel percentage controller system so that the fuel viscosity is safe for diesel set generators. The control system is an electronic network consisting of microcontrollers, relays, push buttons, temperature sensors, lcd and solenoid valve. From the test results, it is revealed that the fuel percentage control system produces oil palm output with a temperature range of 87oC ? 89 oC. The required heating time is 66 minutes, to produce a fuel percentage of the control system has an average of 2% error. And the mixture viscosity is obtained 2 Pa.s ? 5 Pa.s. With such a temperature and viscosity range, palm oil is safe to use as a fuelgenerating diesel power plant.
