Abstract :
The Suralaya Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is the largest generation unit in the Indonesian Power I environment with an installed power contribution of 41.07% of the Indonesian Power load (total installed power in PJB I is 8,278.5 MW). PLTU Suralaya Unit 2 started operating in 1985. By looking at the various problems that arise in each power plant, it is important to evaluate the performance of the PLTU, especially its efficiency. This final project aims to better understand how to regulate the efficiency level of PLTU Suralaya Unit 2. The method used is to calculate the power balance in the PLTU system through thermal power distribution analysis. The data used is data from the PLTU Suralaya performance test in May 2018 by the generator itself. Efficiency calculations are carried out using formulas commonly used to calculate efficiency at PLTU Suralaya Unit 2.From the calculation results, it is obtained that the net efficiency of PLTU Suralaya Unit 2 is 32.13% and the heat wasted is 67.87% with details of 10.62% wasted in the boiler and 57.24% is wasted in the condenser. Based on the results of these calculations, it is sufficient that PLTU Suralaya unit 2 is a power plant that has good efficiency
