Abstract :
Indonesia is the largest island in the world and with abundant marine resources. The irony is that there are still several places that experience the availability of clean water. One alternative way to get fresh water is the distillation method. Solar power generation is one of the potentials in the archipelago and is petrified as an energy source to drive the distillation components. This design aims to make a tool for distillation of seawater into fresh water using solar power as the energy source. The distillation will separate two or more compounds that have a large difference in boiling points. Sea water that is heated to evaporate will turn into water vapor points, where the role of the condenser helps accelerate the process of changing the form of water vapor into fresh water so that it can be used by the community as daily fresh water needs. In this test, the power plant is capable of producing 4.649 kWh of energy in 25 days. In this test, the distillation device requires 7.591 kWh of energy in one distillation process with a capacity of 10 liters for 10 hours.
