Abstract :
Shrinkage is the loss of kWh of energy that cannot be utilized, so this is a form of energy waste and reduces efficiency. Shrinkage affects PLN performance. The PLNULP Panam loss rate in December 2020 was 12.54%, the cumulative loss was 14.22%. The factors that cause the amount of shrinkage at PLN ULP Panam consists of two factors, namely technical factors such as small cable cross ? sectional size, SR series, use of connectors, unbalanced transformer loads and too long network distance. Meanwhile, other factors are non ? technical factors such as meter reading errors and theft of power lines. Efforts are made to reduce technical losses, namely optimizing the implementation of maintenance on the JTR such as changing the size of the cable cross ? sectionaccording to network load conditions, shortening the distance by adding JTR, adjusting the position of the insertion post so that the voltage drop at the branching points to the load is within the allowable limit. Meanwhile, to overcome non ? technical problems, efforts can be made, namely controlling the use of electricity (P2TL), replacing damaged / blurry / stuck APPs, strict monitoring and analysis of the meter reading results and the application of smart electricity (Prepaid) as well as accuracy in each process.
