Abstract :
PLTU Ombilin PT PLN UPK is one of the PLTU in Indonesia, which is Located in Talawi, Sawahlunto, Sumatera Barat. PLTU Ombilin is a power plant that uses coal as fuel in the rank category with caloric value range of 5500 kcal/kg to 6700 kcal/kg. In operation, to increase the effeciency value of the boiler combustion ysing high calori coal. One way yo increase the effeciency value in the combustion process is by using the blending method using various mixing ration. The purpuse of the study was to determine the effects coal blending on boiler efficiency by using direct method ang indirect method calculations at PLTU Ombilin ang the effetcs of blending on the spesific value of fuel consumption and the cost of production at PLTU Ombilin. The results of the research on coal blending from coal with different qualities obtained the boiler efficiency value in April of 90,42% while the efficiency in mei was 90,44%, and then in Agustus 91,18%. The specific fuel consumption value in April is 0,45 / kwh and in mei is 0.47 / kwh and then in agustus is 0,48%. As well as the principal costs of production in April 0,46 Rupiah / kwh while in mei 0,49 Rupiah / kwh, and then in agustus is 0,50 Rupiah/kwh. This proves that the percentage of the coal blending ratio can increase boiler efficiency and reduce specific fuel costs and cost of production.
