Abstract :
Cimanuk River is one of the watersheds which is considered critical. These
conditions caused water to overflow easily when rain conditions occured.
Jatigede Dam has been built in the upperstream of the river as one of the flood
control efforts and are expected to reduce the flood discharge that occurs, but
not in the central and downstream of the river. Based on these situations and
conditions, it is possible that floods occur in the central and downstream of the
river, therefore it is necessary to do an analysis and calculation, analysis of
flood discharge in the central and downstream parts of the river is necessary to
be used for flood control in other parts of the river later on. Flood discharge
analysis using Nakayasu Synthetic Unit Hydrograph method. From the results
of the analysis, the flood discharge of Cimanuk River without the existence of
the dam is higher than the flood discharge of Cimanuk River with the existence
of the dam. This proves that the existence of Jatigede Dam can reduce floods
that occur in the Cimanuk River. For 100 years return period, flood discharge of
Cimanuk River without the existence of the dam was 6358,975 m3/second while
flood discharge with the existence of the dam was 4330,868 m3/second and the
reduction of flood that occurred was 32%
