Abstract :
A steam boiler or boiler is a major component that functions as a heating furnace to convert water into steam which is then used to drive or rotate the turbine. The boiler consists of pipes to heat water to a boiling point (dry steam). As a result of
evaporation, riser-tube and tube economizer failures often occur with failures in the form of stress corrosion cracks, residual stress, fractures and thinning on the tube
surface. The riser tube in the boiler functions to flow the steam and water mixture from the furnace wall pipe to the water-steam separator. The tube economizer in the boiler functions as a connector to other components that are flowed by boiling
water with heat efficiency of up to 4-6%. Where failure is due to combustion emissions and due to strain hardening, and due to erosion so that the tube experiences SCC which has a mixture of interglanular - transgranular (IG-TG). The analysis was carried out with a literature review by reviewing 7 sources of journal
articles, using the systematic literature review (SLR) method. The test consisted of visual observation, MO microscopic test, hardness test (Vickers), SEM test and composition test on failed materials
