Abstract :
The efficiency of a steam power plant is a strong function of temperature and vapor pressure. Research to improve both of them has been pursued around the world, since the energy crisis of the 1970s. The need to reduce CO2 emissions recently provides an additional incentive to increase efficiency. The main technology that makes it possible to achieve the above objectives is the development of stronger high temperature materials. The study written in here aims to identify, evaluate and qualify the materials needed for Ultra-SuperCritical boiler tubes in terms of their creep and oxidation properties. In increasing parameters steam in ultra-supercritical (USC) boilers requires new materials not only for membrane walls, headers and pipes but also for superheaters and tube reheaters. The newly developed austenitic steel exhibits superior resistance to steam from its creep and oxidation properties which can be applied as a material standard ultra-supercritical boiler tube.
