Abstract :
Coal is a fuel in producing steam in Banten 2 Labuan Power Plant. The use of coal as fuel must be adjusted to the specifications of the boiler and pay attention to what content is contained in the coal. The elements contained in coal are the main concern in producing high boiler efficiency. In this thesis is carried out the influence of fuel variations used for loads of 300MW and 333.1MW. The efficiency calculation this time uses heat loss method or heat loss calculated from the specifications of coal variations and operation results with different load variations. Boiler efficiency results are derived from the coal content used, but not only from how much calorific value is used but also influenced by the content contained in the coal and the air mixture used in combustion. Proven in the calculation that at the load of 300MW coal with a calorific value of 4284 kcal/kg produces 81,521% efficiency, while with 4103 kcal/kg coal calories produce 82,085% efficiency. At 333.1MW the 4284kcal/kg coal calorific value delivers 83.692% efficiency while the calorific value of 4093 kcal/kg produces 84.325% efficiency.
