Abstract :
Babakan Banten village is a village that has not been reached by PLN , the community makes its own Micro-Hydro Power (MHP), which is expected to meet electricity needs at night with a maximum power generated of 1 kW. The provide a better safety factor, a research on the redesign of the Micro Hydro Power (MHP) was conducted. The selection of the Crossflow type turbine is based on the advantages of easy installation and operation, maintenance and low cost . Using quantitative methods, it focuses on numerical aspects as in the processing and calculation and is supported by direct field surveys to obtain parameters. from field survey results in the river flow of Babakan Village, Banten, with the results ;Headnet (Hn) 21.9 meters and Flow Rate (Q) 0.285 m3/s. From the results of data processing, the penstock specifications can be obtained as follows; Penstock length (Lp) = 139 m; Penstock diameter (Dp) = 0.5 m; Pipe thickness = 24.5 mm; while the crossflow turbine specifications are as follows; Turbine speed (N) = 457.5 rpm; Specific speed (Ns) = 22.11 rpm; Outer diameter (D1) = 0.4 m; Inner diameter (D2) = 0.25 m; Length of runner (L) = 0.4 m; Number of blades (n) = 18 pcs; Shaft Diameter (Ds) = 8.8 mm. The theoretical output power can be increased by 4.91 kW.
